Special Features

HKBU PFP Course encourages diversified learnings from experienced principals and educators. Their sharing on individual topics in each modules facilitate discussions and communications.

  • The course covers all six core modules of PFP Course with the latest framework (please refer to EDB website for details).
  • Elective lectures are available based on the participants’ interests/ needs.
  • Extra optional lectures (a total of 3 hours) are devoted to prepare the participants’ preparation on professional development portfolio writing. Expertise and newly-appointed principals will share their experience. In the lectures, the three components (i.e. NA, PFP course and PD portfolio) are linked up coherently.
  • Principals, current and experienced, with rich real-life experience are invited to share their experience in all modules, especially in those topics concerning practical management issues like communication, human and financial resources management.
  • Two class masters/mistresses are assigned to each class. Either of them attends the lectures with the participants and conducts a debriefing session at the end of each module. Debriefing sessions aim at summarizing the theories and practice learned in the lectures under individual modules and provide guidance on reflective paper writing.
  • Lectures include group discussions and individual/ group sharings. Besides, authentic cases will be presented, discussed and analyzed where appropriate to facilitate professional learning of the participants.
  • A tutor, a current or retired principal, is assigned to each group (a group of maximum of 5) to assist in Action Research.
  • Two optional school visits, one primary and one secondary, are arranged to provide on-site discussions and sharing with school administrators.
  • HKBU Libraries are accessible upon collection of HKBU Student ID cards.
  • Graduates will be invited to join HKBU EDUC School Leadership and Administration Alumni Association.
