The Department of Education Studies is pleased to announce the setting up of a new bursary initiative, namely the International MEd Bursary for Students from Developing Countries, to support students from countries within Asia to study in one year full-time degree programme, Masters of Education at HKBU.
At HKBU, we are well aware of the importance of helping our Hong Kong students become global citizens through a whole person philosophy. Inviting students from other countries in the Asian region to become HKBU graduates not only contributes to Hong Kong as a vibrant and economically thriving international city, but it also builds relations with global contexts. HKBU already has on campus a growing number of undergraduate and postgraduate students from many different countries. This diversity of student backgrounds helps our local Hong Kong students understand and appreciate the cultural differences that they will experience, as they become successful global citizens in their future careers.
This bursary makes it possible for students who would not otherwise be able to take up an offer of study in a self-financing mode, to apply for admission to the programme. Once their suitability for the programme is assessed and they are accepted on their merit through an offer in the programme, they will be able to apply for the International MEd Bursary.
Application Details for prospective students:
Step 1: Make an application for the MEd programme around December by following regular procedures specified in the website. If you are invited for an interview and given an offer, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Complete the on-line Application Form for the Bursary for Students from Developing Asian Countries. Prepare and submit your Personal Statement with other supporting documents. The application form should be submitted within 14 days upon receipt of the offer from the University.
Step 3: If your application is considered, you will receive a confirmation from the department.
