FORUM ON PRIMARY EDUCATION IN HONG KONG JOINTLY ORGANIZED BY EDUC

教育學系合辦「釋放空間‧自主學習」小學教育研討會

 

教育學系於2018年5月25日與香港基督教服務處樂Teen會、循道衛理聯合教會亞斯理衛理小學、及中華基督教會基慈小學聯合舉辦了「釋放空間‧自主學習」小學教育研討會,吸引了近百名小學校長、教師、家教會委員、及社工等參加。當日演講嘉賓包括浸大校友著名導演張堅庭先生和教育學系副系主任譚肖芸教授,他們分別探討如何釋放學童學習空間,及學習空間對兒童成長的價值和意義。研討會上基督教服務處社工朱麗英女士、林德育校長、趙潔華校長和教師團隊分享了「長假期無功課自主學習計劃」的構思、推行和實施經驗。大會亦邀得立法會教育界議員葉建源先生作回應,並跟與會嘉賓聽眾探討小學教育的進路。

 

 

A forum on Primary Education in Hong Kong was held on May 25, 2018 on HKBU campus. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Education Studies, Hong Kong Christian Service Happy Teens Club, Asbury Methodist Primary School, and Church of Christ in China Kei Tsz Primary School. Around 100 primary school principals, teachers, administrators, and social workers attended the event. The two speakers, including Mr. Alfred Cheung Kin Ting, HKBU alumnus and movie director, and Prof. Vicky Tam, EDUC Associate Department Head, addressed the topics of creating learning opportunities and developmental significance for primary school students. The forum also included a presentation on the design and implementation of the Easter Holiday No-Homework Self-Directed Holiday Activity Project for primary school students. The presentation was made by Ms. Phoebe Chu, social worker of Hong Kong Christian Service, Mr Lam Tak Yuk and Ms Chiu Kit Wa, the principals of the two participating schools and their teams of teachers. Mr Ip Kin Yuen, Legislative Council Member (Education Constituency), joined the forum as an invited discussant and gave his views on educational policy implications. The forum closed with an open-floor discussion on the way forward for primary school education in Hong Kong.
